Chair - Jennifer VoorheesJennifer Voorhees, LEED AP ID+C is the 2013 Chair of the USGBC Iowa Chapter. As a USGBC Iowa Chapter Board member she served as At-Large Representative for the Heartland Regional Committee and member of Programs & Education as well as Green Schools committees. She is also a Principal for Facilities Design Group and a Registered Interior Designer in the state of Iowa. Additional professional affiliations include Past President and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for IIDA Great Plains Chapter; Professional member of IFMA Central Iowa and current Co-Chair of the Communications committee; and Past Chair of the Iowa Interior Design Examining Board. Jennifer is a Board member of the Center on Sustainable Communities and participates on the Programming committee. She is also a Leadership Iowa alumnus. As an Iowa State University alumni she is also a past instructor for the College of Design.
Vice Chair - Matt Krieger Matt Krieger is an Architect with Neumann Monson Architects in Iowa City. He leads Neumann Monson's sustainability team, devoted to providing guidance on projects and office policy and furthering the firm's environmental goals and development. Matt graduated with honors from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor's of Architecture. He is licensed in the State of Iowa and is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction. In addition to his professional duties, Matt has guest lectured on environmental building design for audiences of all ages and demographics.
Treasurer - Mike MormanMike Morman is a Project Manager and registered Architect with Shive-Hattery Inc. in West Des Moines. He leads Shive-Hattery's Community of Practice related to Sustainability. Mike is a founding member of the Iowa Chapter and is a past Chair (2010). Mike has his BArch from Iowa State and earned his initial LEED accreditation in 2004 and now currently holds his LEED AP BD+C credentials. Mike has spoken to many different groups both inside and outside the construction industry.
Secretary - Bruce Hamous Bruce is a licensed architect and Project Manager at OPN Architects in Cedar Rapids. As OPN's Sustainability Champion he organizes and leads periodic LEED Study Groups for both OPN employees and others who have expressed an interest in obtaining the AP Credential. He is currently working on 7 LEED registered projects including the Cedar Rapids Public Library which is seeking Platinum Certification. He is often requested to speak to civic and non-profit groups on sustainability and serves on the Indian Creek Nature Center Sustainability Committee and the Board of Directors of Prairiewoods, an Eco-Spirituality Retreat Center. Bruce is one of the 7 founding members of the Eastern Iowa Branch of the Iowa USGBC Chapter and currently serves as chairman of the Branch Leadership Group.
Past Chair - Catherine Fought Catherine Fought is a Market Research Associate for Aviva USA with the focus of market research and competitive intelligence on annuities. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and MBA from Drake University. Catherine has served on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Green Building Council Iowa Chapter since 2008 and was Chair of the Board in 2012. She earned her LEED Accreditation in 2007.
Director: Russ Bollig Russ Bollig is a Principal with Multivista located in their Iowa office. He serves as a LEED subject matter expert to Multivista team members across the country. Russ graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Construction Engineering. He is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction. He is involved with grant writing, the Green Schools Committee, the Advocacy Committee, the Heartland Regional Committee, and assisted with the Regionalization task force.
Director: Scott Bowman Scott Bowman is a Principal with KJWW Engineering Consultants, PC and represents almost 30 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and overall project management. His specialties include direct digital controls, energy efficiency, sustainable design, LEED, and systems commissioning. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional, BD+C. He also currently Chairs the Mechanical Engineering Industrial Advisory Council and the Advisory Board of the Program for Women in Science and Engineering, both at Iowa State University.
As the director of the Project Delivery Group at KJWW, he is charged with developing and maintaining KJWW's commissioning, sustainable and LEED services and many other corporate initiatives for the entire firm. He speaks regularly on sustainablity at national conferences around the country and provides regular training within the firm on multiple subjects. KJWW is a firm of approximately 430 with 9 offices (two international) providing structural, mechanical, electrical, technology, energy modeling, commissioning, acoustics, and medical equipment design services for the built environment.
Director: Carrie Boyle Carrie Boyle recently re-joined WorkSpace Inc. as an interior designer. An alum of the University of Northern Iowa, Carrie received her BA in Interior Design in 2007 and started her design career after college with WorkSpace Inc. A few years following, she then joined the staff at local non-profit, Center on Sustainable Communities, to help lead in the effort in Iowa on educating and inspiring indiviuls to build sustainable spaces and communities. With an emphasis back on interior design, Carrie looks forward to her role at WorkSpace Inc. and as a LEED AP ID+C. Carrie is a member of the USGBC Iowa Chapter Board and serves on the Programming & Education Committee.
Director: Jerod Gross Jerod Gross received a Civil Engineering Bachelor of Science Degree from Iowa State University in 1997. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Iowa working as a Project Manager at Snyder & Associates, Inc. His experience includes Civil site development, road design and concrete pavement design. His LEED project experience includes site development and building projects at State Institutions and Universities. He is an active member of American Public Works Association and American Society of Civil Engineers. He earned his LEED accreditation in July of 2008. Mr. Gross is also active in representing the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center in Ames Iowa speaking at various lunch forums and conducting research on various concrete pavement related studies.

Director: Troy Porter Troy is a Project Manager for JE Dunn Construction's West Des Moines office. He has nine years of experience in the construction industry and has spent six years with JE Dunn. Recent projects include work for Saint Luke's Health Systems and the University of Kansas Hospital. Troy has demonstrated his leadership, management and communication abilities in several ways throughout his life. He was the team captain for Cedar Falls High School golf team, a 3-time winner of the Iowa Homebuilders Association Scholarship, and a winner of the General Contractors Association of Iowa Scholarship.
With JE Dunn he has managed multiple projects including the skin/shell package for the Saint Luke's Wornall MAHI Tower, which won "High-Rise Masonry Project of the Year" in 2011. The project also included a green roof package located on the third fl oor roof. Recent projects include a new pediatrics unit for The University of Kansas Hospital, and a 25,000 SF addition for Trinity Health Systems in Muscatine, Iowa.
Director: Chris ReynoldsChris Reynolds is the Chief Operations Officer for Phoenix Renewable Resources. He leads the operation of Phoenix's fully integrated construction materials recycling facility and market development for the commodities they recover and manufacture. Chris has been involved in the sustainability industry for a number of years designing recovery plants, developing recycling plans, and establishing markets for recovered products. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Central College in Pella and earned his LEED Accreditation in 2009.
